Mathias ’Vreth’ Lillmåns, best known as the powerhouse vocalist of Finntroll, takes a look back at a lesser-known part of his musical history with the release of Twilight Moon – The Forgotten Recordings. The 4-track EP, out Friday 22.8 via Stormbound Records, digs into Lillmåns’ earliest work, offering fans a rare glimpse into the roots of the man’s decades-spanning career, with previously unheard material from his very first band, Twilight Moon.
“Twilight Moon was my first real band where we wrote our own music. It was founded by me and my childhood friend Kenneth Nygård somewhere in 1997. This is where it all started. In the beginning I was only playing bass, but I started to sing in about a year, since we couldn’t find a singer in our area and I had “the easiest” task in the band by “only” playing bass,” Lillmåns recalls.
Featuring recordings from different studio sessions as well as a live performance from 1999, the EP captures the raw energy and creativity that would come to define Lillmåns’ career. The tracks have been remixed and mastered by Owe Inborr at Wolfthrone Studios.
“Twilight Moon – The Forgotten Recordings” also marks the debut release of the new Finnish independent label Stormbound Records. Available on all major streaming platforms, the EP is a must-hear for longtime fans and collectors alike.
To complement the release, Twilight Moon’s best known EP Aether will be available on limited edition vinyl via Stormbound Records starting September 1st – a rare collectible for metal enthusiasts.
