There comes a point, three decades into a career in extreme metal, when you might want to write under your own name. For Mathias “Vreth” Lillmåns, known from Finntroll, with parallel work in …And Oceans and Dispyt, that point arrived almost by accident. While digging through thirty years of old material for the 2025 retrospective Remains, he found unfinished songs he couldn’t leave alone. The project carrying his surname is what grew out of them.
